Starting in Fall 2021, the current Program Director (Brother Philip) suggested a new structure for our programs aimed at increasing program ownership, increasing program visibility, and expediting Officer Meetings.
For a program to be declared as "committed", a brother Knight needs to have stepped forward as "Program Lead". Program Leads then coordinate with the Program Director to ensure they have all of the support and resources needed to facilitate their program.
The Knights of Columbus provide extensive resources to host their "Faith in Action" programming. We have found that most of the charitable initiatives proposed by our members can be adapted to fit within this framework.
Our programs are reviewed at Officer Meetings twice annually: at the Annual Reveal Meeting (in June) and Organization Meeting (in September). Throughout the year, we only discuss new programming at Officer's meetings when there is a need to pass a motion.
If you would like to see our council commit to a program, you can step forward as a Program Lead.
Brother Philip (Program Coordinator) will then reach out to support your program, ensuring that you have the tools and people needed to make it happen. As a Program Lead, you are not alone! You are the point of contact between the Knights of Columbus, our members, and those whom your program serves.
